The videos show how the patients featured have benefited from use of two of their Biologics and Spine business products, Durolane® and Exogen™. Durolane is an advanced form of hyaluronic acid; a type of synovial fluid supplement that relieves the pain of osteoarthritis and Exogen is an ultrasound-based device that is used to promote the healing of broken bones. The Patient Story videos are now being used on Smith & Nephew's product websites and social media channels and, as well as engaging viewers, are providing first hand information about use of the products and the patient experience. Given the home locations of the video shoots, we decided to shoot rolling footage on two cameras with a single fill light for the story and some simple supporting footage to intercut where appropriate. Dr Battaglia and his team are using their expertise in molecular engineering and neuroscience to further develop their nanoparticle technology into mechanisms which will allow delivery of therapeutic agents to specific biological targets within the central nervous system.
